Anyone fish/camp on this lake that wouldn't mind pointing my family and I in the right direction? We are planning a family vacation up there and I have no idea where to begin. We'll primarily be fishing for bass and camping. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys!

I have been there once and it was a long time ago. We stayed at the state park, very enjoyable. There are lots of ledges and bluffs to be found. Jigs with a spider grub worked well. Long points with brush piles fished with a drop shot. The other pattern that was consistant was trash fishing. In the backs of some of the small pockets are areas of logs and plastic and trash that drift in and form a snag. Toss a worm in there and see if you don't get bit.

thanks Dustin....actually I spent the better part of today looking for lodging and really couldn't find much...do you have any info on how I could get reservations where you stayed?
That sounds like a lot of fun.

My family had a lakehouse on Lake of the Ozarks, and I'd go up there twice a year to fish for a week. Did that for 16 years till they sold the house.
I'd stay away from the southwest part of the lake, by the dam, around Osage Beach. WAAAYYYY too commercial and full of cigarette boats.
Our house was in between Laurie and Gravois Mills, on the Gravois arm of the lake, up north. Great fishing up there for bass and walleye, especially an area called Indian Creek. I caught an 18 lb flathead catfish on a Bill Dance Fat Free Shad right at the mouth of Indian Creek.
Basically we would work boat docks and marina stalls, and points off creeks with crankbaits and soft plastics, like Berkely Power Baits.

My co worker has a BEAUTIFUL house on this lake. We stayed in it one weekend crusing around in his $500k + yacht!
I remember there was a house on a point that made his own waterfall. Water was pumped out of the lake and drizzled down the mountain overhang and back into the lake.
NICE BOATS out in this neck of the woods!
