I tied up some cap spiders this weekend on 1/32 oz jigs for the UL rod. They are supposed to be great at 1/124 oz with a fly rod.

Sunday and Monday yeilded a disappointing five fish each day. A few were nice, but, oh well.

I gave the spiders another chance today. I caught five fish before reaching a sweet spot. It was shallow enough to see the fish. They looked at the the spider, but didn't bite. I gave up and tied on a 1/32 oz tube jog. Bam! Bam! Bam! Within an hour I had twelve more fish.

I'll try the cap spider again on the fly rod.

Anyone want a half dozen 1/32 oz cap spiders real cheap?

I got some 1/100 oz jigs with #12 hooks the other day. Today I tied a few cap spiders with "mini" legs.

I rigged my UL with a float and #4 shot to get some casting distance.

This presentation was much more popular than the 1/32 oz jig. They hit that little jig HARD!

The was a tie between the painted and the unpainted jig head. Both scored a dozen fish.

I got several hits on my grape tomato sized float. One was from a 15"+ bass. I got her to the edge of the water. When I pulled her face into the air, she gave me a "you again?" look and spit out my float.

I guess I'll have to take a razor blade to those 1/32 oz cap spiders and recycle the jig heads.
