Amistad is still rockin'!!

I have been fishing several different patterns, from topwater to giant swimmers to flippin' grass all with equal success.
The lake is about 19ft low and very slowly going down mostly from evaporation.
Water temps are low to mid 80's which has made every type of aquatic vegitation explode towards the surface.
The hydrilla has been flipable for the past month and a half in a few places but now there is plenty of flippin grass in other areas.
I have spent a lot of time fishing the Tru-Tungsten Tru life swim bait for good reasons.
That bait is incredible!! I fish the bait on the POWER TACKLE 8' SWIMBAIT SPECIAL #4 65# suffix braid change the hooks to 3/o xx and burn it through the water and hang the heck on!!
Flippin' grass has been improving every day, most of the outside edge is from 16 to 18 ft but there is some deep grass in certain areas from 23 to 26ft, that is ten to fifteen ft tall.
I am still flippin' with 1 1/2 oz Tru-Tungsen rigged with a beaver on 65# suffix braid and a POWER TACKLE 7' 3" GRASS MAT SPECIAL to winch them out.
You can still catch all you want on Tx rigged senkos and flukes around the deeper bushes and bare spots in the grass out to 15 ft. There are even a few out on structure in the deep blue 30 to 40 on rigs and football head jigs for those who like that kind of stuff.

Here are some highlights from the past few trips.
How about that 7 year old with two 5 1/2's on 4lb test and a 4 ft ultra ultra light, one a basstrix and the other on a fluke!!!
The others are nice up to 8.15lb
Thanks,

Just curious Ray, but how do you recommend using the TruTungten swimbait. Have seen you talk about it in your reports, and of course in the pics there. Is it a slow retreive, shallow/deep?

Any info would help.

I fish the bait with two different techniques.
The first is just ripping it almost as fast as you can reel a 6.2 shimano the other is a very irratic retieve almost like a fast spook.
I am looking for a reaction strike, if you fish the bait to slow you will get a lot of bass to cold trail it and those are hard to catch.
Thanks,
Ray

Thanks for the info. I will give one a try next time on Amistad.

Anything biting on the Nichols Pulsator spinnerbaits right now? This is Brad N. by the way.

Brad,
I haven't fished a blade in a while but they should hit it on cloudy windy mornings.
