took my youngest son fishin for the first time in a few years ... we had a blast ... pics and story on my today's catch photos link.

biggest was a 15 lb flathead and caught 22 all together ... we'd have limited out if dad didn't just about get sun stroke. 98 degrees is too hot fer a fat boy like me.

I bet that beats guiding anytime . The sun's been keeping me off the water till aroung 6-7pm. I just can't handle the heat anymore.

Glad you had fun Tiny. I drank 7 cans of soda pop in 4 hours and was forced to head for the marina to get replenishments. I plan on figuring out a new "hydration" solution as 7 cans of "orange soda" was too much ... I wish I'd had a few gallons of water or gator aid. Going off to read your story now.

thanks guys. we went again last night and caught 19 .. biggest last night was 19 lbs 5oz and another 15 lb flathead. we had one hit that broke one of my attwood rod holders slick off ... never got the rod back either ... was the first bite of the night too. out on the mud flats in the lake, up in the mouth of the river and in the river. I move if I've not caught a fish in about 15 minutes. I don't drift. the lake was flooded for over two months and just now getting back down to normal.

Man, I hate it when that happens. I just replaced my rodholders with some rubber coated steel ones from Academy like the Driftmasters. I was afraid something like that might happen. I couldn't stand the thought of seeing one of my R&R combos going overboard.
