How will the fishing be a few days after she makes it to land? We have a Bay fishing trip scheduled for the 29th and an off-shore trip scheduled for the 31st.
I found it to be very good right after hurricanes, the storm surge will push at least a foot of clean water on top of grass in bay, much easier to run a spoon over grass, easier to catch trout.
Offshore it could be great IF the blue water stays close. Fishing around rigs 15+ miles out can be a sow snapper bonanza, they seek the shelter rigs provide. If the water turns green and off color it may take a month to get back to normal. The last time we had a bad storm/hurricane the offshore bite was terrible and the blue water was 60-80 miles out. When Gilbert hit Mexico in 88 the fishing was the best I have ever experienced out of PA. I am going Thursday for a week and am hoping for the best. I have heard the bay bite will be non-existent if the runoff is heavy.
