I need HELP!!! We are taking my 84 yr old grandfather coastal fishing for the very first time... I am not made of money and I am trying to find a reasonable trip for 5 people... I don't really care at this point if it is coastal (bay/jetty) or deep sea.. I know the farther you go the more expensive it gets...

If you have anyone you can suggest for me, please post a message on this thread..

I am looking for a trip this Sunday (7/27/2008), since we were finally able to secure my grandparents for the trip due to medical issues.

Thanks,

Actionpike

Forgot to add that last year when we tried to do this the guide never showed up!!!! Brought my grandfather all the way down there and then the piece of [censored] guide never showed up and would not answer his phone when I called... I would have been a little bit happier if the guy just said sorry can't make it.. We would not have stood at the marina for 2 hours looking around at all of the guides..

Good thing was that we had not gave him a deposit, because it was within two weeks of the date we were leaving!!!

TEXSUN II / Capt. John are right next to Galveston Party Boats. However, I have never had real good luck with either of these places. Here is the link. Good luck

I have heard some bad things about the Texsun from in-laws that did fishing off of the boat last year.. I believe they went bayfishing off of it and didn't catch anything... I know that it is fishing and you don't always catch fish but they told me that like 50% of the boat didn't catch anything... Then the people that did were hooking 1lb gafftops.

But, they are also sold out.

Thanks for the help.
