Was wondering about places to stay in Rockport other than hotels. Know there use to be some cabins down by Goose Island you could rent. Did this about thirty years ago and seems like they were kinda run down then. Can only imagine what they would be like now. Is there anything else out there like that now? Thanks!!!

there are all kinds of houses for weekend/weekly rentals in key allegro that are top notch...but...they can be expensive and sometimes very hard to book because of demand.

also check out the redfish lodge. you can fish all night right from the dock on top of the underwater lights. when its good the trout and redfish almost block out the lights.

I've been there several times, it's a first class place with excellent guides (but if you can't catch fish it the rockport area you need to think about finding a different hobby). Good luck!

The one we rented a few months ago ran about $900 for the weekend. but it wasn't bad cause 7 of us split a 5 bedroom. Were never there, always out on the water. But I think there is a holiday inn express or something like that right by key Allegro
