I don't know of any pay lakes but the grasslands are a great place for a boat like you have. I fish out of a kayak and I go to the grasslands quite a bit. Not asmuch as I used to now that gas is so expensive. I have been fishing marine creek lately. It's close to the house so if I just want to get out for a couple of hours I don't have to drive a hundred miles round trip to the grasslands. But if you are going to be fishing all day or all night the grasslands are worth the trip. Have you tried Twin Coves on Grapevine?

These are not private lakes but they have fish. Big Creek in Cooper, Mill Creek, Davey Crockett, power plant lakes in Greenville, South Lake in Farmersville, several places around Fork. I take mine on Lavon too.

Check out Supreme Bass.com, It is located just west of Fort Worth, bout 10mins from lake benbrook, It has 5 managed ponds w/plenty of fish, I haven't fished there yet, but I know several people who have or are members (all of have said it's worth it), Great bass and If you trout fish.... they stock it w/ trophys ever winter... I drove out in there one day when I was in the area, and I have to say it does look like a great place to fish,

I fished a tournament out on one of the Grasslands lakes, and other than the guys fishing the tournament, there were about 3 other boats all day.

I've thought about turning my place into a pay fishing venue. I just need the time and money to get it going. Plus I'm not sure if I want to deal with the public coming out to my place.

Some of the state parks are good to go to: Tyler and Daingerfield for example. Should be some closer to your area although I understand the closer to the metromess you get the more hooligans you he to put up with
