Anyone who didn't take the time to read what they were signing was not taken advantage of. It does NOT matter what you've been told, what is on the contract is what matters plain and simple. When I was in wireless phone sales, rarely would people read the contract they signed. I could have told them they would get a date with Rosie O'Donnell every month if I had wanted to. I didn't, but I could have....I did, however, go over the contract thoroughly with them and had to sign a paper stating that fact or I'd have been fired.
Yes people lie, unfortunately, business ethics are no longer the norm, but the exception. However, it is the home purchaser's responsibility to read what he/she/they sign.
