An older gentleman (probably in his mid 60s) has rented the apartment below me. My neighbor and I have really noticed some suspicious activity.

1st of, this apartment complex is very small, everyone is very friendly with one another; the older man who has moved in does not speak to anyone. I said hello to him and he stared at me. If he is on the phone when someone comes within 50 feet of him he gets off the phone and stares at that person.

He comes by once a day; he doesn't live there. He'll either come by around 5am, per my neighbor (he's an old fart too, but he's pretty cool, he sees everything which is nice) or around 3 in the afternoon. He stays maybe 10-15 minutes max. Does not shower, change clothes, or anything. He is ALWAYS wearing tactical pants (He is not a LEO becaus the my old fart neigbor is and he knows everyone and their dog)

The guy has never moved any furniture into the apartment, and behaves very suspiciously (if there is a noise outside, he's peeking out the bottom of the blinds)

For the past two days he has been carring the standard metal mitilary ammunition containers into the apartment (they're full of something because he struggles under the weight). I've also seen him carry in a large amount of ducttape.

The LEO neighbor is really suspicious of the guy, he seems to think he's making bombs or is on the run from the law...

Any ideas?

Call the cops and have them do a 'welfare check' on him...

Seriously CBoone, you are one of my favorite TFFer's to give a hard time to. I would call the cops and report the suspicious activity or have them perform a welfare check. They will look into it. If they won't, contact the FBI or Homeland Security. You can also run a background check on people through www.publicdata.com (it's a pay site)

Be safe my friend, cause one of these days I'll make my way to Nac and we can go fishing...

But by all means, do it from your cell phone. RUN!!!!!!!!!!

Something isn't right there, and you don't wanna be around when he decides to show what he's doing.

These days it is the duty of everyone to report anything you are not comfortable with. If there are any doubts, call the cops.

In San Antonio on April 27, 1979 a man in his 60's parked his camper at a tire store on the main street of the Fiesta Parade. 30 mins before the parade he opened fire on the crowd. His name was Ira Atteberri. I lived there during that time and remeber seeing it on the news. The cops opened fire on his travel trailer killing him.

I would definately report what you are seeing.

If this is for real, don't hesitate to call the authorities. You could be saving many lives.

-Get your LEO buddy to have his plate run. He may have a record, which could tell you something.

Wouldnt you think that the ammo boxes would be moved under the cover of darkness if they contained anything to be concerned about ?

-Knock on his door and offer him a beer to welcome him to the complex. When/If he opens the door, you will have a quick peek inside his place.

It could just be a guy who's going thru a divorce, and doesnt feel like being sociable. But the ammo boxes and duct tape are kinda' weird. Are we talking 4 or 5 boxes......or a dozen ?

Tail him the next time he leaves. Use 3 cars. 4 are better. If he is worried about something, he'll be looking for a tail.

He's carried in about 10 or so I've seen.

Kind of ironic I mention something about no furniture now he's out there with a truck load.

Still an arse. Went out there to get a can of snuff out of my truck and made the comment how hot it is outside, do you need a hand, and he gives me a dirty look and then mumbles something to the guy helping him move.

My guess is he caught his wife cheating and moved....or worse...she caught HIM cheating. Thus the bad attitude.

Or maybe he just lost his home...or got evicted.

I lost $45 but did hit one trifecta and a couple of winners. All in all, a very good day. I was surprised at the size of the crowd, quite a few people showed up.
