I'm not to sure, with that one thin dark black line all the way to tail I think it has some sandbass in it. Does anyone one know if yellow bass and sand bass can "mix it up"? (cross polinate)

Wait a minute!!!
Are you saying that sand bass and yellow bass (yellow bellies) are not one in the same.
The twpd only lists 4 kinds:
sand bass
white bass
hybrid striper
striper

That looks like a plain old sandie, sand bass, yellow belly or what ever local name you call them.

Of course I been wrong before. (Standard "oops" disclosure)

TPWD definitely rcognizes White/Yellow Cross.

They are two different fish and do crossbreed.

Check the State record....11th from the top.

Yellow bass 16" 2.38lbs
White/Yellow Cross 19" 4.75lbs
White bass....Sanddbass.... 20.75" 5.56lbs

Here is a link to state records

Bass, White X Yellow 0.80 12.00 Mar 11, 2008 Jason Ensign riptide grub

That is my old record-TPWD will want to do a DNA test on it if you turn it in but I would bet it is NOT a pure yellow but a hybrid like mine---awsome fish Anton! Would be nice if BB filled up with a bunch of the hybrids in the 10-12 inch range! Good eats!

It's a cross. Any lake with a good population of both yellars and sandies will have some hybrid-crosses in it. I've caught 'em at Cedar Creek several times. It's a good one though.

Well, if it is a crossbreed with chararistics of both the sand/yellowbelly and the white bass, then what rules does it fall under? Do you call it an undersized white and get a ticket? Of if you call it a yellwbelly does it become the one that is over limit?
Got to be confusing one way or the other.
