Has anyone seen it yet? I went with my two oldest boys today. I've got to say it was quite good. Heath Ledger as the Joker was outstanding!!! But, don't go expecting Ceasar Romero or Jack Nicholson. This Joker is a bad dude. eeks Christian Bale is equally as good playing Batman. I don't know if these types of movies get any real Oscar consideration, but this one should. I doubt it could win best picture, but a few nominations for acting is possible.

This is not the 60's Batman. It's not even the 80's Batman. This may be the best movie I've seen this year. Granted I haven't seen a lot of movies this year; I only go to the theater for blockbusters. This one was well worth it.

My oldest daughter went with her friends last night and was blown away. She was wanting to talk about it all night long when she got home. She said it was excellent.

He made the movie. I think he should win and NOT because he died. His portrayal of the Joker is one of (if not THE) best movie villains I have ever seen.

It is an excellent movie. It's long, but it held my attention the whole time. Great action all the way through.

Saw it this afternoon and thought it was pretty good. For me, that's saying a lot, seeing as for the most part, I do not like the comic book movie remakes. If you are into this type of movie it is well worth it to go see.

This movie rocked! It's almost good enough for me to forgive Ledger for that gay cowboy movie.

Was wondering when someone would post about this.

I saw it Thursday night at Midnight, first showing hehehe.

I'd have to say, it was BRILLIANT.

In my opinion it easily ranks as not only the best "Superhero movie" or "comic book" movie ever, but so far, as the best movie of the year.

Ledger's joker is a brilliantly twisted creation. It's a very creepy, haunting performance, if he doesn't get a posthumous oscar nomination it will be a real shame.

Also, I'd say the movie should be up for a best picture, and the director, Christopher Nolan, up for Best Director.

Really, it's much more like a taut, suspenseful, dark and grim crime drama then any comic book movie. It's like Heat, or The Departed, if a few of them wore costumes lol.

Also, it's not really for the kiddies, at least not the really young ones.

Joker WILL give the youngest set nightmares lol.

And rightfully so, it's Batman the way it's meant to be lol.

For everyone else, go check it out.

Real good movie.. Seemed alittle long though. Saw it at a Movie Tavern alittle too much noise and distraction.

Completely agreed. It's a deep, dense, grim, morally complex crime drama trapped in comic book clothing lol.

I saw it this afternoon and gave it a grade of 7 out of 10. It was overly long and I didn't like Batman's low gravelly voice when he had the suit on. Heath Ledger was very good, and the action was good.

"Ironman" was better.

You mean cause Batman's never talked in a low, gravelly voice before? Lol. Or because he should talk in his normal voice, since clearly no one would ever recognize Bruce Wayne's regular voice...Lol. ( Of course they oughta recognize the bottom half of his face, but it's a moot point lol. )

Too long? What would you have cut? I didn't think a moment was wasted. Everything that wasn't action was building plot, or building suspense.

Took the wife to lunch today then we stopped in and watched the Dark Knight. All I can say is was a VERY good movie. I was impressed. Probably the best of the Batman series yet and may be the best comic book based movie I have seen. I cannot say enough about the performance Heath Ledger gave as The Joker. It was very good. You literally could not take your eyes off the screen when he was on. I thought maybe the buzz about an Oscar nomination was hype since he died and all but the guy really was great in this movie. I will give a warning though its probably not the best movie for younger kids. Way more dark and violent than the others by far. Damn good movie though

Well said, I couldn't agree more!

I'm pretty critical of movies and I couldn't even find a cheesy line in this one. It is an all around AWESOME movie, well worth the $8 to see it. I'm going to see it again and I know I'll be buying the DVD when it comes out.

Don't wait. See it in the theater, on the big screen! It is well worth the money. If you wait till DVD, you'll kicking yourself you didn't see it in theater lol.

I agree with Justin...see it in the theater.

Went to see it Thursday and agree with the sentiments that it is the best Batman movie by far. It definitely transcends the "comic book" feel and is entertaining from beginning to end. Heath Ledger should DEFINITELY get the Oscar for this, and not because he's dead. He was just that good. His Joker is one of the best villan portrayals of all time.

Agreed, and double agreed.

Also, this movie's now made over $315 MILLION in 10 days! It will probably set the fastest $400 million record as well...maybe it will even unseat Titanic as the highest grossing movie in US box office history.

We can only hope. Lol.

You have to see it at an IMAX...

Ledgers performance of Joker is awesome!

Only movie villians that are better IMO are..

Ralph Feinnes as Amon Goeth
Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber
Jaws
Vader
Hannible Lecter

I agree!!! Best movie I have seen in quite awhile. I think the Joker (Heath Ledger) came close to stealing the show from Batman. Both were great performances, but this Joker was fantastic!!! It is a must see at the theatre on the BIG screen!! I am ready for the next one.

I think the amount of praise for this movie in this thread should convince anyone else who's on the fence to go see it on the big screen, hehe.

Heath Ledger did a great job on the Joker, but the guy that wrote the script needs to be given big props for coming up with the character. Seems like the movie was made around that character.

Very good movie and well worth the money even if you are not a big Batman fan. The show is nearly 3 hours long and never hits a lul.
