Are you talking about the Tritanium? Ya know-- I dont know why they don't carry it?!? It's fairly new so maybe they just haven't got it yet I dont know--its a really good product but a pain in the rear to get. I used to like the yo-zuri ALOT but started having problems with it on spinning gear(bad line twist) and the yozuri hybrid is REALLY bad about having friction problems weakening the line. One line I will never use again is the Academy H20 brand--odd though because I really like their H20 series lures--but thier line is definately poop.

Maxima makes a very good line called Chameleon. It is one of the toughest and abrasion resistance line I have found. It casts great and has low memory.

Sorry Chris but I hate that line, and specifically because of what you said, LINE TWIST...it is horrible to me. I will never use it again.

I'd go with P-Line CX Premium, or McCoy Clear/Fluorescent Blue.

Ande Back Country
P Line CX
McCoy's

And not necessarily in that order. I like the Ande for my sandbass / hybrid / striper fishing and the P Line and McCoy's for my bass fishing needs. I've also used Sufix Siege with good results for all the above.

Ande, it cost no more to go first class, no memory, good abrasion resistance, and lots of stretch. 20# test Ande will land anything in fresh water.
It does hold over 1400 IGFA records.

One of the reasons that it holds so many IGFA records is that it is one of the few that is tested to break at its rating--if you catch a fish on 20lb test Tritanium for instance and try to register it with the IGFA you can't because it will break higher(ie stronger) than its rating. If you are going after IGFA records I would definately go with Ande. As for the stretch--really depends on what kind of fishing you are doing--alot of times you dont want that stretch--Jackie catches MONSTER reds that hit like a NFL linebacker so the stretch works a little like a shock absorber--I've made the mistake of using braid alot on freshwater reds and well....lets just say I'll be using Fluor blend lines from now on! smile

I was in Southwestern parts yesterday and they had sufix superior 15# 840yrd spool on sale for $3.00. It was marked down from $7.99. I don't know how good it is but I figured for the price, it was worth trying.

No one line is perfect for all applications. That being said I use Stren Magnathin (16 lb test) for 75% of my fishing. The small diameter is great for cranks and and it works great for most of my plastic's. It casts great the only drawback is abrasion resistance. Check it often and retie and no problems. I go thru 2600 yrds in about 18 months. Get the bulk spools from Cabela's for $50.

I agree with Ranger205 that "no one line is perfect for all applications". And as you can see, there are as many opinions as there are those of us on the forum. I personally like Sufix Elite, Siege and braid, and Trilene XL. But look at it this way...the line is one of the most inexpensive parts of the equipment equation. Read the opinions, then get a few 100 yd. spools and see for yourself what you like. For one thing, it gives you plenty of reason to get on the water for "research"...lol.

Seems like line preference is a matter of personl choice. Every line has its points. Im not particular. I just get the cheap spools off the bottom shelf at Walmart. lol
