I have been to jannsnetcraft.com, and others trying to find the best way top re-create a bait the manufacturer no longer makes. I do hand poors now but only one sided. Is there any company, local i hope, that I can give a lure I have and have them make a mold injector kit for me? Thanks in advance

Barlows in Richardson has mold making kits. Take your favorite lures and use them as the prototype to make a mold, then you can make all of them you want.

You may have to fabricate something to contain the mold material once you pour it, to let it harden into the mold. I used a small cardboard box, line it with wax paper for easy removal.

i have some older molds pm me i might have it got acess to 50 or so molds with my pouring buddies i am wanting a rattlesnake mold 2 sided aluminum for myself i need for different colors keep a eye out for mine also

It cost GrandeBass $5000 for the final Rattlesnake mold. That doesn't even count the prototype molds that were made to field test and improve the bait. It's my understanding that the Rattlesnake molds ran over $20K before the final product was released. A mold for that bait would have to be hand made by someone because the original molds are not available to anyone but GrandeBass. Sorry.

Not to get off the topic of the original post... but,,, Funny you should mention that color. I have been wanting it for a while too!! That is one of the colors we are in the works of making right now! There are 3 or 4 new colors coming out that I know you will love.

I have an old discontinued bait that hasn't been made in probably 15 or more years too. Been thinking about bringing it from the dead. It was a killer in this area. But, the manufacturer told me back then that if a bait didn't sell nationwide, they quit making it.

I know you can contact the company that originally made the bait and if they still have the molds they will make them for you, but the order has to be pretty big, I looked into having an old crankbait made but it was going to add up to around 500 lures to get them to do it. So making your own would be cheaper.

hag do you know who/what company made the mold($5000)? are they local? If I have a bait do you know the process? thanks for the time.

You can always make your own mold out of plaster or fiberglass resin. I have a few molds I have made myself and they work great.

I have made moles out of Durhams Water Putty that I got from my local lumber yard.This can was $7.99 and is 4 pounds.
