My g/f, her two daughters and I went put in our kayaks at Nichols Landing today around noon and fished/paddled to the take-out at Hiway 281. The river is low, and slow but the water is clear and cool! I caught a couple decent sized bass and several smaller bass and lots of bluegill, all on artificials. Mainly used white roostertails and a Rapala original shad. I also tried a few plastic baits with no luck (still). It took us 6 hours to make the 4 mile trip but we weren't in any hurry. Only had to get out of the kayak a couple of times due to shallow areas. The rapids were a nice change of pace from the flat water. Definitely looking forard to trying it again soon!
