I took Doug, Todd and Michelle out on Saturday morning 7/12/08 for a little Lewisvile channel cat action. The bite was a little slower and the fish were a little more scattered compared to the past several trips. The group this morning finished up with 33 keepers, some dinks and a few missed fish. We caught a few on shad, but most came on Secret 7.





I spent Sunday morning 7/13/08 on the water with my daughter Abby. The intention was to just have a fun outing and spend some quality time with my daughter and do a little scouting. But as many of you know, when the fish start biting, it's time to get serious. We found a good concentration of fish and got to catching. We even had three doubles. She had no choice but to let me reel in a fish or two when she's already tied into one herself. We both had a great time and ended up with 24 keepers up to about 6 lbs in 3 hours on the water. All fish on Sunday were caught on Secret 7 dip bait by Team Catfish.



I have an opening this weekend if anyone is interested in some hot summer-time catfishing action on Lewisville.

Right now, I can't buy a bite with shad. I used Secret 7 and DK's blood bait last Sunday morning and wore them out. I'm still missing a lot of bites on Secret 7 by setting the hook to quickly.

With the 7 just leave it in the rod holder. When the rod doubles over or starts bouncing just reel them in. There really isn't any need to set the hook. Most of the fish just swallow the entire bait and are already hooked by the time you pick the rod up.

where on the lake are the better catfishing spots for this time of year and evening into night fishing?

We�re catching channel cats and a few blues in a variety of locations right now. Some are working a little better than others, but we�re catching fish just about everywhere we go from 2 feet deep down to about 25 feet deep. The types of areas we�ve been fishing are wind-blown points, banks, baited holes, shallow timber and brush, creek channels, humps, and ledges.
