Can you get a longer bolt for the side post on a GM battery? I need a longer bolt but not sure how to get the bolt out of the rubber sleeve. I do not want to just pull it out and tear something up.

you need to get an extended battery bolt. they got 'em at Auto Zone. No need to tear anything out. your bolt should come out fine with a little muscle behind it.
