My wife wants me to take hr and the kids to St. Joe Island. We have fished Port Aransas for the last 8 yrs. I have heard of St. Joe but cant locate on gps. I asume that it is the same as St. jose Island. If i am correct where is a good place to get out on the Island. I have 22' bay boat and we have always beached on the bay side of the Island. Guess my question is where is the best place to take the boat where we can get to the beach. Thanks

It will be a hike to go to the beach from the bay side and you will have to cross the dunes (cactus and snakes!) I use to do it some when I was a younger if we wanted to fish the surf farther from the jetty. As you know you could take the jetty boat. You might ask around to see if cedar bayou is open or how far you would have to walk from there.

PS St. Joe = San Jose
