I have an old green Curado 200 that is really pretty worn. It is actually sloppy and growls on the retrieve. Cleaned and re-lubed everything but I'm afraid it is just worn out. Do you think it is worth overhauling? Any idea what it would cost? Any other brand I would probably retire but I hate to see it sitting on the shelf not being used.

sounds like the bearings are shot...new bearing kit will probably fix that...they are pretty cheap and easy to replace.

You bet its worth overhauling, they don't make them anymore. Like AggieDave said a new set of bearings and it'll be good to go.

Thanks, I think I'll pick up some bearings this weekend and see how it turns out.

well,i can tell you this, we still get them in baggies, boxes, some have cob-webs, and bad shape and anglers don't care, they want their curados and just won't give them up. If I were you, I would'nt give up on the curado. Lots of anglers will buy them as is, just as long as they can get their hands on one. Just curious as to what bearings you might be purchasing? Shimano? after stock ABEC 7? stainless, ceramic or ABEC 5?? It really doesn't matter just as long as they are cleaned and serviced properly. IMHO>
