Whenever I have new gear, I have to take it out somewhere just to get it wet. I've never had any luck using new gear the first time out. Once it's been "broken in" then it's Fish On!

My only superstition is that if I am not on the lake, for some odd reason I will not catch any fish banana

Variation on the first cast superstition....The first cast curse is doubled in power effect if the fish gets off. Also, The first fish hooked, if it gets away, is a curse to the remaining fishing session.

First thing I do is reach down and scratch the "boys"...and it don't hurt to repeat that during the trip.

Never have your net or your camera out ready to be used. Must have them put away....then the fish will bite.

I have a running joke (not to me though..) with long time customers. Don't mention the words "fish-fry" at the start of the trip. Once we get some in the box, then we can talk about it!

Absolutely! I never ever have the landing net out of the compartment.
Always get a kiss from my daughter before I leave to fish. She gives me the best luck.

Bringing the wife/girlfriend is bad luck for you.... but apparently the one time they go they have terrific luck.. making it even worse for you.
