Got a question. Going to Panama City Florida, taking my fastpith team to the USFA World Series, will be ther the whole week. We will be only playing one game a day for the first few days so will have some time to do other things while we are there. I was told that there is a long pier you can fish off of, my question is what besides my Texas fishing licence do i need such as other stamps ect. Also do any of you kow or can recomend a 1/2 day fishing charter in that area say something after 1 o'clock. Any info would be greatly appreciate. This is sort of our big vacation for the year also so we want to try and do some other stuff while we are there.

I did the USFA thing with my daughter a few years ago. You will need a Florida license, they sell a 2 or 3 day license for not a lot of money. We saw some nice fish caught offshore, not much quantity though. Its different over there, catch a couple of nice fish and they want to head back to the dock. Beware, its the rainy season over there. Expect delays for your games, it seems to rain every afternoon. The last game we played there was delayed for so long that when it ended, the sun was coming up. We got our trophies from the umps, no tournament people were even around.

If I'm not mistaken if you fish off pier in FL you don't need license, If you do fish the pier use a GOTCHA lure, ask about it at BPS or academy. You can catch alot of different fish on this bait. Ladyfish, hardtails, trout, blue runners, and more..

Crank,

I've fished that area two summers ago...there is also a small jetty on the inlet to the bay there. You can catch all kinds of fish right off the rocks on an incoming tide. Even kingfish. Good Luck.
