Im heading south this weekend and will be fishing Falcon for the first time next week. Will be putting in down by the park and staying in the cabins. Trying to get everything ready and if there are any hot baits to have, Im going to try to get them this week.

Any help on lures, colors, where to fish, presentation would be very helpful. Not sure if Ill ever be able to get down there again so this is probably a one shot deal for me. Want to make it count.

Ill be posting pictures and a summary after the 19th when I get back.

Biggest rods you have, biggest flipping baits you have, biggest braid you have...

Bushes line pretty much the entire lake/river. Dont know how to spell their name, weesatch is how it sounds. Mixed in you will find hardwood trees, some submerged but with the lake dropping theres plenty to see. Pitch big plastics to the shady side of the hardwoods. Pretty much every one should have a fish on it. You can catch fish doing a lot of different stuff (anything you want actually), but thats relatively stable and should be a lot of fun! Stop by falcon lake tackle and talk to those guys too. Theyre really good guys, ate dinner with them last time i was there!

Be sure to stretch before you fish, you'll get your arms ripped off!

I will be down there this week-end, I always go to my "old faithful" lure , Watermelon Red "Brush Hog". Those bass just seem to murder that brush hog. Just like ba$$fan said, fish the wee-satch along the lake and points have been good with the "ball & chain"-carolina rig.

I was down there the weekend before last and we caught them on football jigs, T-rigged senkos and zoom mag flukes in wat/red. We were fishing in 15 to 25 ft on rock ledge with bushes on them near the damn. We actually had more bites on 17-25lb flourocarbon. We had just under 40 lbs for the day. Good luck its an amazing lake.

C- Rig the points with Plum Ole Monster worms by Zoom. South end will produce bigger fish. Dont forget the dd-22's or 3/4 Hotlips.

Take plenty of medium and deep cranks (chart/blue and shad colors), crig, and flipping stuff. Big worms (10-12") in blue fleck, plum, green pumpkin, etc. The bigger creature baits are what i have been flipping in the same colors as the worms above. Get some Powerpro in 65 or 80lb for the crig and flipping if you are in the brush.

You should have a great trip!

Think it supposed to be over 100 all next week so just hoping I dont heat stroke out, lol. I havent been able to do any salt water fishing in years. Theres just something eciting about hooking a fish and having no clue what it is until it gets to the surface. I would fish Falcon longer, but I figure that three days is long enough to break the TX largemouth record.

We were down there on the 4th of July weekend, big plastics on rock points. We did not catch any giants but I did get what I wanted. My wife had several over six and my son had one hooked up over five, he lost it but he got the thrill. The largest we had was just under eight pounds.

I was there on the 4th of July weekend also and caught alot of fish flipping 10in. powerworms in 5-10 feet. The biggest fish was 7+ doing this. I did not catch as many fish throwing a deep diving crank but the overall size was bigger the best 5 weighed around 34 pounds. These fish were on rock points on the main lake in about 15 feet.

DON'T FISH AT NIGHT. shocked. and they're called huisache trees. caught fish on main-lake points (wind-permitting) in the mid-sec. of the lake w/ plum worms and big fb jigs. reading on www.tackleandrods.com is an absoulute must by the way (they're info is always current and from many sources.) even stop by the shop, they'll help you out a bunch.

Just got back. will be writing up a report and posting pictures later. 10.5" ol monster plum worms were just about all they were biting. Also caught a few on sexy shad color dd22's, football jigs, and black/yellow spinner baits. Very windy. Rocky points were the best, with some good fish flipping worms in trees as well.
