would it be monofilament, braid, or fluorocarbon? And why?

I would have to say braid.

Why? There is nothing like being able to swing a 3 or 4 pound bass into the boat on the hookset. thumb

I like my P-Line Premium. Pretty tough line that handles the cold weather well. Braid only comes into play up here in a few situations. I'm surprised you let 3 or 4 pound bass into the boat and don't just shake them off. eek

Monofilament, it works and I have not lost a fish yet.

Mono because braid is nothing but a pain and it cost three times as much. In sandbass fishing it sucks.

Seaguar and I have bounced 5 pound bass into my boat on 10 pound seaguar many times....then again I don't get to falcon in the thick of brush as often as I would like...need to get back there and enjoy another adventure like the last one...

I never understand these threads. Why would you even consider fishing only one line? I don't know anyone that does that. A good line for trebble hook baits wouldn't be as good for Trigs or jigs. That's the great thing about all the advancements in modern fishing gear, you can get line, rod and reel all made to make you the best jig/ crankbait/ Trig/ Crig/ shakeyhead/ dropshot/ frog/ topwater/ spinnerbait/ swimbait...(circle the techniique of your choice here) fisherman you can be.

Well Robert it does say "if" smile why would you ask someone that bass fishes anyway? I would as someone that fishes for something that could test the line/gear shocked

I would have to say P-line fluroclear. I think its the best of both Mono/Fluro all in one.

For the fishing I do (just general what ever is biting off the bank fishing) in general, the plain jane cheap spool mono on the bottom shelf at walmart in a 12# mono is more than suitable.
