Presently have a Bay boat with T top and full equipment. Unfortunately, I didn't realize when I bought it, I would be better served by a little more "family friendly" boat. The present boat is a great fishing rig, but not really right for our needs.
I've been looking for something that would still be a good fishing boat, but better for the whole family. Ran accross this Ranger. Does anyone have any experence with it or know anyone that does. It's a 2008 model so no used ones around. I may not buy a new one and wait till I can find one later, unless I can get a steal deal somewhere. Looking for advise.
Thanks

How big of a family are you talking about? How many do you foresee going out on the boat at once? Are you looking for a combination fishing/pleasure boat?

Sometimes 6-8+ people. Used mainly for fishing, but more seating and more suitable for skiing and tubing. need to be able to hang out on it. Not interested in a pontoon. Great boats, but not for me! Thanks,

Then I'd look at the deck boats...Chaparrel makes a great deck boat...They are called the Sunesta...They handle the water better than just about any boat made...However, you'd have to add a livewell...They can be a bit pricey a nice used 6 year old one is about $20,000 (depending on size)...

Hurricane also makes a nice deck boat, but they don't tend to handle as well as the Chaparrels...They are usually already outfitted, or easily adapted, for fishing. If I were to get a Hurricane, I'd go with a 2003 year model or newer...

The only other deck boat I'd consider would be a Four Winns...

Bayliner's are nice, but I don't care for the looks as much...
