Graphite. St. Croix makes some good cranking rods.

I have never had as much fun fishing than when I was a child using a bamboo pole. You can spend thousands on any rod of your choice but fishing for crappie with an old bamboo pole is just FUN! ...and the best!

The crankin stix fish very well. The others feel good, but have been having durability problems. We'll see if they make it good.

I brought a bunch of them into my warehouse and naturally had to demo some of them grin . I really like them and so far haven't had any problems, and neither have my customers. I've got a couple of customers that keep coming back and buying more thumb .

I really like em. Just got 2 more in today. So far they seem pretty durable and sensitivity is awesome.

I prefer glass for anything that has treble hooks.

Specifically, I like my Powell glass rods they are almost as light as graphite with the functionality of glass.

Glass for crank baits or fishing natural baits, Graphite for most plastics and spinner baits. The feel is important with plastics and spinners. The softer action of glass helps on crank baits because it lets the fish take it longer before feeling the resistance of the rod. I also like the softer glass for whipping out the longer casts when searching with rattle traps or Carolina rigs.
