I've got a new (to me) boat with a 2006 EFI 150 and the smartcraft system. However, I don't have the smartcraft gauges. My boat will occasionally beep when I'm getting up on plane if I don't do it at or near full throttle. The beep persists until I return to neutral and then I can hop right back into gear with no issues. Does anyone know what this continuous beep is supposed to indicate?

If it is a continuous beep, that is the overheating alarm.

I've got a scanner if you want to bring it by. I'll check it out for you.

Not contridicting what Mike said, but according to my manual, continous beeps mean 1 of 5 things:

Critically low oil in the engine tank

Oil pump electrical failure

Overspeed

High engine temp

Low block water pressure

or, If you get a single beep, then continuous beeps after the Guardian takes over, that means battery voltage out of limits.

If I were you, I'd take Mike up on his offer and have it checked asap.
