Thinking about taking the girlfriend for a vacation somewhere on the Texas coast. I am an avid bass fisherman and would loves to maybe get a guide to take me red fishing. My question is, in August would I be able to go and catch red fish with lures in shallow water? Where is good place to go that I can fish and still be a nice area to do some other things with the girlfriend? Looking for some good ideas, thanks.

Hey FD911,

Check out Rockport. Lots of Reds in August and they will tear up a topwater or gold spoon. Plenty of shopping in town for the girlfriend. If your interested in a Guide give me a call or email.

Hope this helps.
