I dont have a problem with someone wanting to rant about something, I will sit and listen if you need to get something off your chest, hell I would have done it with that guy, if he just really wanted to vent, but you bring me into and that's when I have problems with it..

I can sympathize with you LegendRick. The other day I went out to eat dinner with a coworker. I asked her if she wanted to go in or go through the drive through. That prompted a 5 minute lecture on how the drive through burns more fossil fuels and should be banned. No problem, I didn't mind going in. We sit down and she ask me to pass her some sugar for her coffee. I ask if she wants the real sugar or Sweet&Low, then I get a 10 minute lecture on how big of a carbon foot print Sweet&Low has. Some people can (and will) grip about anything.

What a dork. Rick, I had a great debate with a Green Peace guy in SA last week outside the Alamo. Absolutely priceless--he wanted to sign me up as a supporter, I wanted to debate the human impact on global warming. To his credit, he kept a great attitude. I even told him I'd be happy to go on his next boat ride against a whaling ship!

My response to people like that has become "Good! My goal is for our fossil fuels to last right up until the day I die. If I plan it right, the lights would go off right after they unplug me!"

That's a pretty good reply Fishbrain, I will use that one the next time...

I wonder how many long-azz traffic lights (there for "traffic control" purposes only) she sits at going to and from work? Some people just can't make a connection. Personally, at 5:30 in the morning while going to work, I'll stop at a traffic light here in good ol' Terrell Texas (city of traffic lights and trains...) just long enough to make sure nothing is coming, then I run it. If I do get caught my excuse will be "I'm saving the planet, officer."

The planet has it's own course and your greenie ideas are futile. One volcano and all man's efforts are for naught. One season of fires and California's expenditures for carbon reduction is lost. Oceans warming? Tsunamis and hurricanes take care of that. Atmosphere warming? Cloud cover reduces the sunlight reaching the earth and the rain cools it. Dang first rate climate control system we already got here.

The ones leading the march are rich beyond your wildest dreams and getting richer off of the movement...as with all collectivist leaders the top gets rich on the regulations placed on the bottom.

I am proud of your restraint. I drive a diesel pickup and we build furniture for rich people who like to own a Prius but are happy to have a macassar ebony table or a Honduras mahogany armoire that is unlike anything their neighbors own. Cutting down the rainforest is OK as long as no one sees them do it. I would be in jail right now if the guy got in my face that bad. I have very little patience for confrontation.
