It's been almost a year since I've been able to go offshore at all & even longer since I took an overnight boat for tuna! FINALLY, I can muckle into a yellowfin again.

Was wondering if anyone else from the DFW metroplex was going on this trip to share driving, motel and such - with $4/gal gas, I'd like to minimize expenses whereever possible (yes, I know I'm blowing $650 on the boat ride itself, plus incidentals).

No, not planning any other overnight/offshore trips this year unless I get some unexpected sales closed. But it's ok - in two weeks I'm headed to Alaska for halibut & salmon with my mom. Her treat!! How could I refuse to go on a fishing trip that Mom pays for?

The YFT trip on the Big E just looks like a good time to go & will probably be my only chance to catch big red snapper this year (unless I find them in state waters during my October trip on my little boat at South Padre).

Anyone from DFW who is going on this trip - please feel free to PM me if you want to carpool.

It would be a great birthday gift to myself, but I'm teaching a Hunter Education course that Friday/Saturday.

I'm going to be in Galveston/Port A from the 5th until the 20th, but there will be three of us and I don't have the $1950 to spend for the 2.5 days of that trip.

Fatty said he would share the ride and the room. He's not going fishing.

Well, I'm about to head off to Alaska for a week, so I'll bump this up & see if anyone else is booked while I'm gone. Gonna be a culture shock of sorts ... halibut & salmon in 60 degree weather, then 2 weeks later being offshore in the Gulf with YFT!

Again, seeing if anyone from the DFW area is planning to go on the Big E 52hr trip 7/11-7/13 - would very much like to carpool if possible.

Bump again ... I know someone else was trying to sell his spot on this trip, so maybe someone from DFW is going after all?

Been there & back - posted a few pics on the Saltwater reports section. Disappointing fishing, but everything else was incredible.
