In Alaska, on opening day of the Sockeye Salmon run, This is the equivalent of a "boat show":
the only difference is, here some yahoo, guns an inboard through the boat show and scares the fish to kingdom come! In alaska, a grizzly ambling out of the woods can scare fishermen to kingdom come!

That just doesn't look too fun. I like a little peace and quiet while fishing...looks like you cant even cast?? Still would like to get to Alaska though.
It's actually not that bad. I got the chance to spend the summer up there with my grandparents after I graduated high school. It is a unique experience fishing like that on a river. Basically you let out as much line as you want to where you think the fish will be swimming upstream. Throw you line up stream and let it float down. When it starts getting in peoples way you lift and pitch it back upstream until you find the fish. Gets pretty interesting when people start crowding you when you start catching em.
I disagree, there are plenty of people out there with money that will pay the price to catch wall hangers. Time will tell.....I hope you are right though.
