Back lashing cannot be blamed on the line. Sure, you may have to adjust for the difference, but that's it. I don't like flouro for other reasons: breaking in the middle of a cast, breaking in the middle of a cast, breaking in the middle of a cast... you get the idea.

Although not likely, but very possible, that particular spool of line that was backlashing could have been a bad or OLD spool of line that had become brittle/coily. As a matter of fact, I used some P-Line one time and it was terrible and I know a bunch of folks love P-Line, so I must have gotten hold of a bad spool.

Try the KVD Line Conditioner. It will tame the stiffness and memory down on your flouro line like crazy. It will make it behave more like mono and it will also improve your knot strength. Works great on Braid too. Makes it hold the color and factory finish 3-4 times longer.

Actually, my experience with copoly lines is much better than with straight flouro so far, and much much cheaper.

I just bought some P-line floroclear (copolymer), but haven't spooled it yet. Since it's not 100% floro will it have the same stretch as mono, or be pretty equivalent to 100% floro?

gamma edge and berkley 100% are hard to beat
but i dont use flouro that much. i feel that i break off too many fish on hook sets. copoly has some stretch to it so my line doesnt bust when i cross their eyes. CXX is good stuff. but like sketerhawk said gamma co poly is better

For me, all P-Line products seem way too stiff like wire, and since I like copoly a lot been using Silver Thread AN40 for years no problem, I use Trilene Flouro when I need that type of line

i have tried a TON of them, and usually dont like thier qualities at ALLLLL!!!! I set the hook too hard, is what I have been told. and some have casting/memory quality that compares to what I flush!!! I tried one last line and really like using it. its VISCIOUS flourocarbon and its also about half the cost of others. i am also now using thier co-poly and really like it as well. For me- this stuff works. I think you will have to try a lot of them- as flouro seems to be angler specific in how you fish.... some "swear" on brands I had the worst luck with....

This was a funny post! Hard to blame birds nests on the line man! Its like blaming a slice on the club! That said some lines are easier to learn with! But you gotta get the right line. Thats not even flouro and thst some of the thickest line on the markey anyway! Chances are if its cheap or cheaper its not flourocarbon line! CXX is about 7 bucks for 600 yards at Academy, flouro is 17 bucks for 200 yards smile If you want to learn to use flouro try some light test, Seaguar or 100% Trilene or even the BPS flouro and work your way from there. Im now using up to 20 pound 100% and Seaguar and I throw a lot of weight less baits on 10 and 12 pound Seaguar with no probs! Learn how to use your reels and get a decent flouro line and begin to "feel the bottom" finally smile Good luck in your advaneture, it wont be a cheap one, been there done that, didnt buy the T shirt!

I haven't had any problems with fluorocarbon since figuring out that you don't tie a Palomar knot on fluorocarbon eeks . I especially like Seaguar InVizX but I'm considering giving Vicious a try. As for casting, the line conditioners do help a lot.

I;ve tried most of the floro's on the market. Seagar's InvisX is what I like the best. It is really, really good stuff.

Don't skimp out on the cost of floro either. You'll be sorry.

viscious is 9.99 for the same amount that Invis-x is(125+ yards)... I tried that stuff too and didnt have good results. regular seguar held up better for me, but the price wasnt worth it to me.

You can't use a palomar knot when using FC!...Poppycock! stir
I have used a palomar knot since way before moving to FC, and have continued to use it with FC without any problems at all...and I mean at all...period.
But the key when using a palomar knot with FC is that if you are just a little bit sloppy in tying the palomar knot and allow the line to cross over itself when doing the overhand part of the knot then the portion of the line that goes around the eye of the hook will end up lying over itself instead of lying parallel to itself and when that happens it can and will cut itself.

Now I can already hear the howls of protest about how someone "does not tie sloppy knots but they always have problems with FC...blah,blah,blah". If that is the case with someone then I would like to hear them explain how some folks have problems with FC cutting itself and some do not (the pros use it all the time), even when using the same exact brand and test of line? The answer is that a correctly tied palomar knot will do just fine with FC and one that is not tied perfectly will not work just fine with FC.
Like it or knot (pun intended) that's just the way it is!

I have used invisx for about two years now. I tie an improve clinch knot and have never broke off a fish. I have also never noticed any difference in casting verses mono.

I know it is kind of pricey, but I don't feel the need to change line near as often as with mono.
