So I work an 11 hour day on friday. As soon as its done I am ready to head to New Braunfels to enjoy my fourth of July evening. I was asked to work Fri Sat and Sun in order to have Wed and Thurs off for the Brazos river camp/float trip coming up (everyones invited). I planed on having a crazy night, mostly becouse it was an old group of friends who now have lifes and a future instead of an ego and a party attitude. We all enjoyed good times till around 10PM

Then my friends dogs went at it. A bullmastif and a rottweiler were killing each other. A vet tech on hand started to worry about the dogs safty. I, having always owned big dogs, great dane, bullmastif, alaskin husky, grey hound, to name a few, decided to seperate the angry animals. Only one had a coller. I grabed and yanked up. The other dog didnt have a coller so grabing it was mroe dificult. Eventually i had it but it had the dog i was restraning. I knew i had to stop this so I put my self in the way. The dog accidently cought my left elbow strait to the bone with one canine. It never latched on though. I also got grazed on my right wrist.

About 11pm Some people are jumping off the second story of the boat dock. I decide to act like im 18 again with all my old friends and decide that i havnt lost that young energetic side of me. I front flip from about 20 feet up. I accidently over rotate and belly flop from my upper chest to my face.

Around 12:30AM some friends decide to swim across the lake. I Tell them that some one should watch us. I get my buddys cusin Gene. He tells us ok. we begin to swim. Once we get started we dont make it far. A boat comes hauling A$$ across the lake from a blind curve. It seperates me and my friend Sergo. We were only 3 feet apart. I get pushed off the side of the boat. My friend gets ran over. The boat cut both his ancles. It looked like the prop grazed the backs of his ankles. We were both very very very lucky and thank the lord we are still alive.

This was all after wakeboarding for a few hours and hurting my body, this was another old past time. I tell you waht though I honestly dont regret anything but the stupid swim. I am still young just not dumb. (anymore?)

I understand how stupid this was. I wasnt thinking, this will be one of those experiences that shape how we look at things in the future. I am not 18 and invincible anymore.

Somehow I think you cheated the law of averages smile

I don't fault you as I know I did my share (and probably somebody else's share) of risky moves back in the day. I can honestly say that my most painful experiences were ALWAYS preceded by a severe lapse of good judgement.cry
Maybe, for future consideration - before you try to beat the odds, consider what happens if the odds beat you.

But, we wouldn't want to interfere with "natural selection" either grin

When you are young you think you are invincible. Sometimes it takes a hard wake up call to dispel that myth among youth. Consider yourself a very lucky young man, and think before acting next time. It just may save your life, and that of your friend's lives.

HAHA guys I appreciate your um...hugh...er your patience with our ignorance. Normally I am a very level headed guy. I dont think of my self as a blind perticipant. I shouldn't have made all those bad choices. Looking back I am simply amazed at our luck. I dont necessarily think of my self as young and dumb but I understood how stupid this was. I had to tell you guys but expected a goofy response so I did my best to convey to all of you that this was pure ignorance and I understood that.

I lost a close friend who was 18 to a single stupid choice. I think maybe he was watching me, about 2 months ago i ran into a clarivoint. She approached me and knew my name. She spoke to me about things nobody knows. It was Eric reaching me. I have my eyes wide open now if they were closed before. I had a lapse in judgment I think almost anyone can have these from time to time. If you think of yourself as extremly smart and with lots of common sense and still see this as one persons total ignorance of which you are void of. Well maybe that was your slight laps of judgment.

Any who, I am still in shock that im alive and wanted to share my experience to help with my own personal therapy. Thanx for your patience with natural selection I'm sure it will catch me fast if this kind of thinking continues.

let's paint a visual here. Some of you on here know our beloved Redranger? If you don't then you missed a real treat.
For those of you who do try and visualize RR in his famous sleeveless T-shirts, Pink warmup bottoms, but with a "Mullet" hairdo, one of his front teeth knocked out, an earing that resembles a dried raccoon sexual organ (gold plated, of course!). Then imagine him doing all the things our buddy just described. Kind of fits, don't ya think? We may have RR's younger brother here and don't even know it! clap loco

Lay off the suds or Tequila would be my advice. I'm in my 50's and the only time I get into "trouble" is when I forget I'm in my 50's. Nuff said!

You're from the Shiffer Islands aren't ya. I had an inkling you might be after I read your first post. Then you posted again and I was almost convinced. Then you posted again and now it's official - you have Shiffer brains.

If you were drinking, it's why you're still alive.
