I've recently been contacted by a member of this great site, telling me that I am a 'terrible' business person, because I don't know when backordered items will be restocked. AND that I lie to TFF members regularly about everything. loco

I tried explaining to him that the tackle biz, (especially soft plastics) is sort of a 'get in line' ordering system. I explained to him for almost a month that there could be absolutely no way to know when 96,000 worms will come......and that I have to 'get in line' with Yum, Gene Larew, Culprit, Bass Pro, Academy, etc.

I told him right away, that "I've gotten orders in 3 weeks........ and I've gotten orders in 7 months (no kidding)."

I realize this guy is leaning towards the 'younger' side of things, but I would like to get any feedback from the TFF that I can.

Please, All Alluring Feedback would be appreciated.

b (apologies J.P. if i'm stepping on your toes with this post, but this kid made quite a few threats, and upset me pretty bad)

My advice would be to "fire" him as a customer. Life's too short to worry about morons who are consumed with getting plastic worms.

If you made them yourself, that would be one thing, but you can't control what other companies do. I agree with smoke. You can't pull them out of your backside waiting on UPS to show up with them. Little companies like us are put in the BACK of the waiting line most of the time, I can tell ya that. Unless you are up in their top 10 customer list, oh well.

Cancel his backorder and be done with him. You do not need the aggravation.

I've always had great service and communication from you. I'm sorry that there were threats and the sort... We all get frustrated when our favorite soft plastics are in short demand, but that's no excuse for threats...

Man, I sure feel alot better now. Thanks guys!

This guy ruined my night, and my morning. (i think he owes me a six pack for killing my buzz last night, LOL)

The worse thing about it is that I have made the 'top 10 list' of customers with one of my two suppliers, but they just haven't caught up to the 21st century yet. I still get handwritten invoices that are 4 pages long (in cursive!) crazy.

......" 5" Salty Trick Stick - Watermelon Red 4,000 pieces"
......" 5" Salty Trick Stick - Watermelonseed..... etc. (all that is written out by hand on every product) insane.

All the orders I have ever placed were handled quickly, with no problems at all.

I wouldn't worry about what any one person says too much. I have had BPS back order stuff for 2 weeks, and "Really" not care.

Don't sweat it, if he is that much of a problem, offer him his money back and walk away.

Time to start looking at leasing some mold injection equipment.
Equipment could be 100% deductable your first year. At very least, the payment is 100% deductable.
Someday, your suppliers could start ordering from you.

I'm with everyone else on the forum that said forget about it! This guy that called you is just full of himself. All you can do is your best ... if you're doing that then don't worry about that fruitcake! Oh yeah ... give him his money back and refuse to do business with him.

I wouldn't worry about that guy either. You can only do so much, and sometimes thats not enough for everyone. If you are making everyone mad, then there is a problem. If one guy thats mad is rare enough to upset you then you must be doing a lot of things right.

On the other hand I hate nothing worse than backordered items. I enjoy sites such as Tacklewarehouse.com that have inventory tracking and lets you know if they have the item in stock or not. I would rather be told that something isn't in stock than to just recieve a backorder after I have already paid my money.

Good luck, I'm going to check out your site now

Great looking site and nice looking baits, as an Aritist myself I must say that I really like your logo. I noticed also that anything out of stock shows right up on the site. I wouldn't think you could do more than that to keep people happy.

Brent---Again, thanks for the quick shipping on the special color baits. Plus the extra pack you included. It was my first order but will not be my last. Also have seen MANY other people from other forums that are always happy with your baits and service so don't sweat one small fry----it's a big pond.

Keep up the good work. Life's too short to not enjoy work and play.

I appreciate the support guys.

The funny thing is that he has never paid for the items in question............just inquiring. (they were 'out of stock' and unable to even put in the cart)

You cant controll everything but the things you DO have control over you do very well. I have always had great service from you and you always keep me posted via. email on new items. I am very pleased with your service and products. Don't let one bad apple get you down. Some people are just never happy no matter what you do. Don't let him bother you, just keep doing what you know best and everything will be alright.

From working in a tackle store in the past, I know first hand that suppliers sometimes just don't have what you want shipped. Perfect example is "Southern Pro" crappie tubes. I waited almost a year for a particular color to come in, and then the requested amount wasn't filled.

I order a lot of tackle online (no sales tax)....backorders is just part of it. Not sure if you charged him already for the backordered items, but if you did that could be part of the frustration. I never liked being charged for an item, before it is shipped. If you did not already charge him, I have no idea what his complaint would be. But no matter what the frustration is, no reason for threats.
