I'm out here in Lubbock and was wondering if anyone knew of some local ponds good for fly fishing. I've been to Alan Henry and Buffalo Springs, but wound like to stay in town since gas is the cost of a new fly rod.

I like Andrews park over on 82nd and Memphis on the the NORTH side of 82nd. I usually catch a few every time I go.

Leftowich on 66th and almost Indiana is good too. I'm about to try to figure out how to stick the carp that cruise there. This one also have stripers in it.

Maxey is ok...or used to be over by the concrete pier

when I was at Tech, we gill netted and electro fishe- a bunch on nice fish out of canyon lake #6 (I was a fisheries major and it was for class....just realized that sounded bad)

just about all of the park lakes will have fish in them. The only one I know of that goes dry is Clapp, but I haven't seen the big part dry up in a while.

Canyon Lakes are very good for small bass and a TON of bluegill. Take a float or kayak.

Don't be going there at night though. eek2
