Me and my buddy went out today and we got skunked! We fished everywhere and we fished everything, where are the FISH? Any suggestions would be great, now I'm not trying to take anybodys honeyhole or anything just a little nudge in the right direction. Thanks Guys.

Something must be wrong or something has seriously changed for the worse. The last few weeks, up until even Monday, you could just about go anywhere and throw just about anything and at least catch some swimmers. Only time you have to concentrate was going for overs.
Try speeding up and covering water with a crank or blade. They may have have concentrated up near the main lake or gone deep with all the boat traffic.

Points on the main lake should be pretty good but as stated earlier the extra boat traffic may have shut em down.

Seriously Joe B? Where, When, How and Why? Man that is awesome I would love to find fish like that on the vine I know that they're there I just don't have any idea where. I do think that maybe the added boat traffic had a lot to do with it and it was pretty crowded today too.

All I will say is Monte is on the right track.. With the hundreds of boats being on the lake yesterday and last night I am sure the Bass are shut down. I got on the lake about 11am and got off 11pm and it was tough we boated a total of 4 fish but only fished for about 5 hrs. Here is 1 pic that I will post...

Absolutely not!!! I would call that place Death Valley. Whatever you do, stay away from that place. There are no fish in there. bolt

It was tougher this morning as far as quality fish than Friday morning. Was on the north side bank by myself Friday AM and only landed about 6 fish but some were pretty nice spots and decent size chucks. This AM wifey went too and it was dismal at first. I think I made the comment the fireworks must have scared them deep about a dozen times.

Started seeing some feeding activity finally that we could cast near and then we stared to catch decent numbers but very small fish...mostly 10 inchers and a couple better ones but not any even over 2 pounders.

Wound up with decent numbers...about 15 between us but again these were very small fish. Caught the majority on finesse type worms Texas rigged.

Hit Twin Coves this morning in the kayak. Caught half-a-dozen largemoutn on topwater and crankbait, best two went about 16 inches. Best fish of the day was a gar on a topwater that went over 20 inches.

Over 24#'s won out there today and over 17# was second. I would say the fishing seems pretty good right now. Throw a crankbait and they will wear you out.

Joe B,

You caught a 17# pounder on the vine?

I've seen some 9's and 10's come out of there but a 17? actually two 17's?

good work

17.5 inches, i.e. just in the slot.

17.5 lbs out of the 'vine would cause quite the stir...dave short might move back for that. lol
