Casey has you going the right direction. Dark buzz baits would be my first choice. 10" powerworms are good too. At night stay with the dark colors and try something thats gonna make some noise or vibrate. ( ie. Dark spinnerbait with a colorado blade) Look for structure, and see what works. And make sure you keep your nav light on.

Welcome Aboard The TFF.. The Best Fishing Information Site On The Planet.. Texas Night fishing is one of my favorite times for Big Bass. You need to fish areas that you are familiar with or go well before dark and get your bearings so you can navigate in the dark.. GPS will help this process. I use large craws like the Larew 6" Hawg Craw, Big Jigs with a Rattle and 10-12" Worms in Dark Colors Like Red/Shad, Black/ Blue, June bug on C & Texas Rigs. Big Single Blade Spinner bait and Buzz baits in Black with a contrasting trailer. Med to Deep Crank baits in Dark Colors. I have caught most of my larger fish in 8-12ft near deeper water off Grassy Points, Creek edges, Humps, Tank Dams, Road Beds and in front of lighted docks. Any place that holds Bass in the Day time will hold them at night... they just get a little shallower at night. Good Luck! Bazz

Allright guys, don't give the boy too many clues. He's already closing in on his ol' man!! Welcome to the forum buddy!!!! I figured you would have used "bankbeater jr" as your name but I guess that's too much to live up to!
Ask me about night fishing next Sunday morning after I put a whoopin on you and Bradley! Just remember that I taught you everything you know so 2nd place should come easy for ya'll.

The lake and its conditions will dictate lure selections, as most said black is the dominate color, but red shad, black with chartreuse, black with blue will also produce.
just don't stock up big stuff, some nights a 4" craw worm will out produce a 10' worm. I have some nights on certain lakes were a wacky worm was the only bait they bit, so just like day time fishing keep an open mind.
spinnerbaits single colorado, hildebrant is a simple choice, 5/8oz either #5 or #6 gold blade depending on wind and moon brightness.
buzzbaits lunkerlure for most conditions but a stike-king triple blade 3/8 oz when the conditions are "quiet".
If you are running banks try to find seasonal pattern locations that have the most "environmental noise" (frogs croaking)

Try fishing around Boat docks until you become familiar with fishing at night. There is usually enough light to make it easier to fish. Once it gets quiet around docks and Marina's, usually 12:00, it is really nice and peaceful and COOL. Try and "feel" your line if you are fishing a worm. You might try one of the Black Lights but they work better in the Dark, away from docks and bank lights. Black lights work with Flourescent lines NOT regular lines. Braid works really well at night due to the sensitivity, but again it's hard to watch it. Just go for the "feel".

Boat docks at night are one of my favorite targets when fishng from my Kayak. This type of fishing has resulted in some of the best catches I have ever made.

The dark color baits regardless of how you fish, plastics, spinners, etc,,,, and I agree with Bigron119, if a spot holds fish during the day, those spots tend to do well at night.

Try a white bandit cb in those dock lights if you don't get bit on black.
