Well JC I can tell you this much if you want to go over there go ahead. you are one of the best guides on Amistad and you know as well as I do that that side of the bridge has been beat to death the last 2 years. That is not where Carl and I have been catching all our fish and that is not where he caught those. I will tell you that the spot is on the other side of the bridge grin
how far well I cant say, you and the rest of the fishermen reading will have to do a little searching. fish I can be bribed but I am not cheap.

Awesome fish Carl breakdance

Well my my guess is that those fish were caught near the,
"naked cove"! A very long way from the location in the photo.
Despite pressure, Amistad has VERY LARGE BASS! You just need
locate them, then outsmart them! What say you Carl?

Carl is not allowed in the naked cove, Lane There was a petition. I know thats right Charles you pretty much have needed a reservation to get inside the 277 bridge it has been so crowded. Well figures, It should have known you and Carl have never liked fishing in a crowd! But you better be careful, Charles he may replace you with that young phenom he took out there.LOL

Respectfully,

Well JC I dont think i will get replaced. but this post does bring up a subject that needs to be addressed. People post picts on TFF all the time and instead of being happy for those Fishermen the first thing that some people say is, I know where that is. yeah me too see ya over there. THIS IS WRONG. These fishermen are just trying to share an experiance and all these other people can do is try to steal their spot. This happens on all lakes not just Amistad. I am so glad Carl moved before he took those pictures. But I will bet if you go sit over there with a camera you could get some good footage of people that still think he caught them there. You guys that do this, you know who you are, I hope you feel good about the fish you catch. to me you are not a fishermen, just a thief, go find your own fish like the rest of us. well thats my opinion anyway.

I caught a big string of fish on that spot about 6 weeks ago.Now since Carl posted a picture from that spot I guess I'll be subject to some kind of ridicule if I go back to a spot I have fished for years.I told one of Carl's employees where I caught my fish so I guess he was on my fish.I'm going to post pictures of all of Amistad and then no one :but me; can ever fish there.I don't own the lake and neither do these people who always claim that they are the only ones who can find a spot and anyone else fishing it must have found it by some unethical action.

Spinner i understand what you are saying, but i was just asking a general question, it's not like i asked for like GPS coordinates, i just wanted to know like castle canyon, tank canyon, high bridge, stuff like that. Just asking an expert fisher for a little bit of advice for a novice, and if your post wasn't directed to me, lol sorry i just woke up and need some caffine, lol

Scott it was not directed at any one person the people that do this on purpose know who they are. You did nothing wrong, if Carl wants to tell you thats up to carl. N.M. Basser if you need to go to your spot then go. The lake is a free lake anyone can fish anywhere. The statment was intended for picture pirates that steal spots like a bunch of vultures. Like I told JC in an earlier post that spot has been beat to death in the last 2 years. I am sure there are hundreds of fishermen that have caught fish from there that will want to go back. TX Whitetail you dont need those GPS coordinates you are a guide now, you should be giving me GPS coordinates. If you still want them they are not cheap.:)

Ok Scott, here ya go. Those fish were caught within 2 miles of the BLACKBRUSH RAMP. "15" means within 15 minutes of my lodge. Folks know I don't have secrets. Never knew one to be kept. Have enough people following me or watching me with binoculars. You'd think I was back at Choke Canyon or something, which is what they used to do there as well. I ain't scared, nor do you fish like me, so why not. I like helping people, whether it be fishing or anything else. The particular area I am fishing has been holding big fish for 3 months now, ever since they started dropping the water level. Sometimes they are in the mood, sometimes not. Ya'll remember the 10.72 from June ? Same place. Like JC said, I don't like fishing in crowds and usually have no problem finding my own fish. Anyway, weather is anybody's guess. Hot, windy, maybe a thunderboomer or two if this system holds out. Our team tourney is July 20th of this month. N.M. Basser , didn't even know you had told one of my folks anything. I just went fishing. The main reason those pics were taken over there was because my friend had parked his vehicle at that ramp and we had also gone to check on one of our locals here who was back in that brush where the comorants roost catfishing. Saw his boat and went to talk to him. Then we took our pictures as it was getting late due to my friend having to leave at 11:30am. Didn't even wet a line there, hence the raised trolling motor. Went back to where we caught them, released them, then took my friend to his vehicle and unloaded. Then I went home. Lesson learned. Now that I know how to use photo shop I will doctor my pictures from now on so this kind of tizzy doesn't happen anymore. Now while I am on my soapbox, which I haven't done this much explaining in YEARS, this is what was happening when I was posting reports on the bassfishinghomepage when I was still guiding at Choke. It keeps up, I won't anymore. I was just trying to share our excitement of a beautiful, wonderful morning between friends and my biggest string for 5 in my life as a pair/team whatever. My personal best by myself is 43.22 lbs. (Choke Canyon) for 5, so I was kinda excited, which I don't get that way very often.

Carl: I never assumed anyone told you or needed to tell you where to catch fish on Amistad.I'm tickled you caught a great string and hope you catch a bigger one ;but not in a tournament against me.What I find upsetting is this non sense that someone is somehow a gps pirate or cheater if they fish a spot where they have seen someone else fishing. The fact is you may have been on the spot they wanted to fish ;but they went on by only to return later. When you return you assume they have pirated your spot when actually they treated you with respect.Amistad is a big lake and we can all find a spot to be away from every body;but if the fish are stacked on a spot you will probably have company. This "you" is not directed at Carl;but at those who assume no one can find fish except them.We may have found them before you!

So awesome... I've only got one double digit fish to my name so watching my partner catch two dd fish within 30 minutes of each other which helped us win a tourney down at Choke on memorial day weekend was something... can't even imagine what it'd be like to have a morning like that!!!

Carl,

Don't let people get to you on this forum. most of us that know you in person can say that you are a great person and fisherman. You have shared spots and patterns with me and my mom and We have shared some spots and patterns with you and others down there also. I will never stay anywhere but your place because of this reasone. It sure is nice to visite a lake that is several hours away and get down there and talk to someone like you and Diane.

By the way My mom loves her new lake house on Fork. That is the reasone ya'll haven't seen much of her in the past couple of months.

Thanks,

Matt M.
