Just because they are old dont mean they dont work. Is it wood or plastic?

Have to throw in the Bayou Boogie, Creek Chub, Water Dog and Hellbender for old school lures that still catch fish. thumb

I've only been fishing a few years and a friends dad turned me on to the lucky 13. He had a whole tackle box of lucky 13's(wood and plastic). I remember thinking how stupid that lure looked until he started catching fish after fish with it. Who would have thought a fish would bite what is essentially a red and white bobber with treble hooks hanging off it? I've fished it everyday since then. I've caught LM, SM, whites, pike and even a catfish blew it up topwater at choke. lol I've fished it in TX, MN, GA and SC. Best topwater lure I've ever used.

Yes, made by Heddon. Had several and the old tried and true Chugger.

Got a 9 pounder mounted in the garage that my grandfather caught on a lucky 13, must have been sometime around 1960ish.

That was my dad's favorite top water. He would only throw braided dacron on a baitcaster. Very old school. He passed years ago and I can't see a Lucky 13 without remembering him.
