I've heard a bunch about flukes so I picked some up today... but not sure as to how to rig and fish them. Same as I would any other worm?

you can rig them both the same way.
Most people use it weightless or with a split shot rig.
Use a 3/0 EWG offset worm hook.
Run it into the head and out on the belly(where the pocket is) and then T-pose or Skin hook the point on the flat part of the bait

Id say youre off to a good start. I usually either fish them weightless or with a 1/16. hook them as you would a worm. fish it as if the bait is dying with a few twitches here and there

Anyway is good, but you definitely have to try it with a weighted hook. The action is definitely better with a weighted hook than with a standard texas rig. The tail goes nuts with a weighted hook.

You can rig them several different ways. Some as Bazztex mention. C-rig or weightless. I like the 3X Ztoo for both of these applications. You can T-rig it(I like a 1/16 oz. weight),or get you some of the Falcon swimbait hooks. Stay with the lighter EWG hooks, Weight 1/16-1/18 oz.

Another way is a double rig. Short leader, long leader on a three way swivel. Weight of the hooks are usually enough to pull it down. If more weight is needed, put a split shot on it. More than enough weight. Makes it look like a small school of shad. Twitch this rig and the baits go everywhere. Not a fish that swims that won't hit this rig.

If you get into big fish, you can use two barrel swivels instead, that way they can't break off if they decide to go in different directions. Short leader on one, long leader on the other.

Also, try a weighted hook that has a little lead on them, they can be tough to find, but they work perfectly when weightless won't. Flukes are awesome, great bait!

Here is a link to the rig Carl speaks of. http://fishing.about.com/od/basicfishinginstruction/ss/aa050805a.htmI use a 2 light wire EWG 5/0 hooks for this rig. I find the hookup ratio better with a 5/0. I use 7/0 or 8/0 with the 7 inch flukes.

Like most, I like the weightless rig as well. However, you can add just a "little" bit of weight by inserting a brad (small nail) in the head. This will help produce some of the tail action mentioned earlier. Makes it sort of "die" after a twitch.

If you're fishing early, I like to retrieve as soon as the bait hits the water, like a baitfish trying to escape, then let it fall.

one little tip I will give ya for the big Mag Flukes. Use em backwards. Can also do this with the super fluke, but the effect is less.

JLJ2018 If you have not guesses from the above inputs the fluke is very versatile. This is truly one bait that the ways to fish it are only limited by your imagination and there may not be a wrong way to fish them. Be sure if you catch fish in some way you didn't read here please let us know.

I fish from the bank so I don't know how well they'll work (lakes are all pretty down out our way in west Texas) but we'll give it a go!

5/0 Owner EWG on a Super Fluke works great. The heavier hook provides the weight. Find some grass and catch some Bass.

Since you are fishing from shore, another good thing about flukes is you can cast them a mile.
