Nothing like it has been in the last few weeks. I met a friend down there and tried for some reds. He caught 2 rats and i caught one(1). We tried it all. I had the pleasure of firing off some choice words to a pair of guys in a tracker who circled us then tried to anchor right on top of my friend. They couldnt get their anchor out in time to keep from drifting into his boat. They tried their trolling motor to keep from running into him and it didnt work either. My friend puched them off of him. They drifted over to me and i told them the lake was plenty big enough for them to go somewhere else. They did. Pretty lame trip to the redfish hole. I guess i should have know better on a holliday weekend. violin

atleast i got 15 fat tilapia out of the deal. grin

Third times a charm....right. LOL I guess your luck ran out and just when I was thinking it was time for a run down there. Think it might be better when the lake rests for a week or two?

Fairfield also threw me on Friday night July 4th (8 PM-11 PM). We had four bites and landed two reds, a little rat, and lost a nice channel right at the boat. My friend Medulla was also thrown on Thursday night catching two reds.
About the time you think you have Fairfield figured out it won't work. I'd rather fish Fairfield with no bites than any other lake catching limits.

only sure way would be to drain the lake and pick them out of the mud. hammer

less competition out there never hurt anything for sure thumb

Does anyone know if this lake is difficult to fish from the bank? I will be heading down that area this weekend and any information about bank fishing Fairfield Lake would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

They catch reds from the bank at the fishing point.

Parker good luck in the future. I'm heading to CC this weekend. If you're around and see me out come and say "howdy"!

Fairfield was tough for me last weekend 3 nights fishing with a total of seven reds, with one big one lost at the boat.
