I have a 24vlt trolling motor. I had to disconnect one of them and used it to start the engine to get back to the dock the other day ( I was drifting, and just running the trolling motor all day, with all the electronics on, and it drained my main battery). Well I hooked it back up, but now it seems like im only running on one battery (trolling motor basicaly has half the power it used to have, will barely move the boat now). I made sure all connections were tight, and I also made sure I hooked up all the wires I took off.
My only question is maybe I hooked the wires up wrong between the two batteries. When hooking the two together, do you hook ones positive to the others negaive, or positive to positve, or neg to neg?
Thanks!

I think I just realized my own anwser. To get 24 volts I need to hook them up in series and not parralel. I hooked them up parralel instead of series. So I need to connect positive to negative on the other battery
