It was the same for me. My friend and his son didn't catch a fish (had a few on) and I limited out in 45 minutes! He wasn't as frustrated as your buddy in the picture was. On the day the sanctuary opened it was fish on every 5 casts (if you can call it a cast), hard not to get your limit! I limited out almost every day for 4 straight days. We left on the Friday after the sanctuary opened, way too many folks trying to fish! Went to Fairbanks area and caught some grayling/pike on the fly rod! Can't wait to get back in the next year or two. Saw your pics and looks as if you had a great time as well, everyone should go at least once in their lifetime to experience the fishing and the scenery.

Papa,
The mountain is Mt McKinley (tallest mt in North America), picture was taken early in the morning from a turn out along the roadside on the way North to Fairbanks. We waited about two hours for the clouds to clear to get that picture. I lived in Alaska for seven years and to get a clear picture of that mountain is hard to come by due to all the cloud cover.
