Going there this weekend and I don't have a clue what to expect other than a sunburn. Anybody been there? Whats the primary structure?

Small, shallow water Brushpile Lake. Lots of Weekend Traffic out there that do absolutely nothing but Run up and down it. Better bet is to go at Night.

I think JW is thinking of Lake Weatherford where Klein lives. Waxahachie is a great little lake. Fish the hump in the middle of the lake where the buoys are, always good for a couple of dinks. You can go under the pipeline and fish the boat docks when the sun gets up. Good luck.

Never been there, but looked it up for you.

It is very small, a little under 700 acres, but it is not overly crowded and has a secluded feel. There water color is moderate and there is decent amounts of aquatic vegatation. There are also rock bluffs and some timber, and a damn area.

Fishing for LMB, crappie, catfish, and white bass is supposed to be good, though the lake is not known for monsters. The record largemouth bass comes in at just under 11 lbs, but was caught recently (2008), so that is good news.

When I go to a lake that I have never fished before the first thing that I do is try and find areas of vegataion, primarily Hydrilla. You can always catch some bass around these areas. And this is what my info. said about this lake. It also said that bass can be caught around the damn area. However, this is coming off TPWD website and I dont always trust them. But, targeting grass always works.

Good Luck!!!!

Thanks MeSkeeter. I went today for some graphing and a little pre-fishing and found a few hovering around that 14" line. I'll let ya'll know more after I fish it tomorrow.

I have caught some keepers off boat docks that are close to deeper water.

Kevin,
You know that is Trammells lake and he will take your money. Send me an email because no one has accessed the Club website and taking care of it. Guess that BillBr does not want to do it....

Okay, the scoop on Waxahachie. CAPITALIZE ON THE EARLY MORNING BITE! Topwaters ran parallel to the grass lines before the sun gets high! The sexy shad color seems to work good now. Work the chrome sexy shad "red eye shad" once the sun comes up. When the sun really gets blazing, use the series 3 sexy shad crankbait and a shakey-head worm under the docks. Lots of fish in the lake, but biggest bass was only 2.61 lbs.
