Has anybody ever fished it before? I am going next week and have never been, tried to look up info and could not find very much. Just would like to know what the lake looks like, structure, grass, etc. Thanks, for any info.

It is not the best lake in the area, but there are some good fish in there. Sorry, another tight-lipped lake so you won't get much info. look for the reeds under 820 and west of the dam as they always hold fish.
you can run up the river, but hang on its a rough ride if you do not know how to navigate it

Just like what Yamaha said...going up the river on the East side of HWY 199 you have to be careful...this is a stump field but you would never know as they are all under the water. We almost sunk our boat out there several years ago trying to sweep through there and hit about 6-7 stumps at about 50 mph. Take it slow if its your first time. The entire lake is shallow to begin with...about 23-26 foot max depth but there is all sorts of different cover to fish like what Monte stated above. I have not had much luck out there myself but some of our club members have pulled some nice fish out of there. The deepest part of the lake is near the damn on the left side. There are reed beds on the right side. I have caught several on both sides. The left side also has several rocks and a few good points. The reed beds on the right side are in about 2-3 foot of water. Good luck.

Yes, it's tight-lipped, although I have never been one to keep secrets about fishing, as I learned what I know about that lake from others and want to share what little I know.
Stay south of 820. If you go North, watch your depth finder and go slow. As has been mentioned, you will go from 23 ft of water to 3 ft of water in a matter of seconds. The river is your main reason for goin North, in my opinion---but go very slow.
I advice you start with the reeds directly SE of the bridge. It's about 2-5 feet there. You will almost always catch some white bass with a fast moving bait, and if you don't get any black after a quick run, just move on--cause they ain't biting.
Go across the lake and fish the cove with the boat slip in it. It's a little deeper here--try slow rolling a spinnerbait in this cove.
Next, head east out of the cove and start fishing the rocks with crankbaits. A Bomber A or Bandit 200 works well. You've got to literally bounce them off the rocks to get a strike. About mid-way between the cove you left and the next cove is an active spot.
From there, go NE about 3/4 between 820 and the DAM. You'll see a boat house that looks a little like the Alamo. In that area you will notice a hump (you have to watch your controls to see it). This will almost always get you bit if you bounce a Bandit 100 (any shad color) off the hump. Work it from the SW side of the hump moving SE.
Finally, try the reeds after the last cove toward the dam. Go slow here as it gets very shallow. Throw a baby-bass Super Fluke, a Senko (I like red shad), or burn a silver/blue 1/4 oz. trap.
The fish on this lake are fairly nomadic, so if all fails, remember to fish her VERY shallow, and if you venture away from the shore, take advantage of all the break-lines she has to offer.
As always, be on the lookout for the Goatman (call 911 if you see him), and of course the gators on the lake like to peak their heads above water and watch you fish---but they are not aggressive--not usually anyway. ;-)

Sounds like you've been given some good information, FD911. Don't forget your boat permit!
Tarrant Christian Bass Club is fishing a night tournament out there this upcoming weekend. We'll be going from Friday midnite to 9:00AM Saturday AM. It could be one of those tournaments where 5lbs wins it, or 18lbs, just depends on who holds their mouth right.

Bullet Basser - Not exactly, but you are welcome to fish it - but we don't fish for money! If you want to come out and fish with us for bragging rights only, then come on! Usually people will do so when they are considering joining the club, wanting to fish with us first before committing to joining.
We're setting up the boats (pairing boaters and non-boaters) Tuesday night at our monthly meeting, so if you want to fish, you will need to tell the TD by Tuesday night. You are welcome to come to the meeting at 7:00 at University Baptist.
We're meeting at the IHOP in Lake Worth at 10:00PM Friday night for "pre-tournament breakfast" before hitting the lake.

Thanks for the general info guys, It is a lake I have never been on and I know how tight lipped people are. I would not have guessed this lake, but that is ok because you guys came through with a good general description of the lake and that is all I needed. Ranger Z21, I would like to be Lloyds ringer but I am not going to fish it with him, just might go and prefish. It will be fun to go and fish a lake I have never even really heard of. Lloyd is on his on, he can't fish so don't worry about him. LOL

Can't fish huh.....no more shaky head worms or swimbaits for you my friend. That goes for you to mandoman. Especially after I saw how mandoman rigged the last swimbait I gave him. Never seen a swimbait rigged wacky style before.
