I am new here, and I just bought a jon boat with a 9 horse Honda outboard and a transom mount trolling motor. My question is to do with trailering. Is it okay to leave the motors attached to the boat while going down the road, or do I need to leave them off until I get to where I am going? Thanks for the help, and good fishing!!! fish

Welcome Captain Guppy! Should be fine. Not enough weight for them to cause any problem. Just make sure you have good ground clearance and they can't bounce up and down.

one more thing is to consider some form of brace on the outboard so it doesn't break the built in tilt lock mechanism. I had a 7.5hp years ago and the manual tilt lock mechanism broke off on the road one day. I made a brace out of a piece of wood to prop motor up when I traveled with it and never had the problem again.

Thanks oldroc. That's a good idea. I will see what I can rig up.
