Well I raised Old Glory and the Texas flags this morning at work.
Said the Pledge of Alegance and that is about the extent of my 4th celebration

Putting up with some of my family seems a lot like work, but I wouldn't trade 'em...

I'm at work. If the grocery stores are open, so are the warehouses!

There are quite a few folks out there toiling today. I just saw the garbage truck go by. I'd have thought those guys would get a day off. Bummer.

Our people in uniform overseas are NOT getting a day off either, and if anyone deserves it, they do.

I'm thankful that I don't. I'm very surprised that we shut down for the 4th.

Got to work @ 5:30 this morning and won't get off till midnight or so. Golf course stuff till noon then patrol the area while they are loading and then shooting off the city fireworks at 10:00 tonight. I guess the golf course is the only place in the city to do it. It only costs me about 3k in lost business. Traffic and idiot patrol for a couple of hours after they're done.

Well I just got back from an "on-call" response....the mainframe guys are rolling over to a new main frame at work this weekend. So today they decided to "make sure" the folks who I support had access.....since they weren't sure they migrated the IP pool access list correctly...:( So I run in, log on to a couple of systems, fire off the mainframe client.....and all is well.

Hopefully it will be quiet the rest of the weekend....going fishing Sunday...:)
