I am watching the news right now. In Austin a young woman spotted a man in her backyard today. She grabbed her pistol and went outside to confront him. He ran towards her and she fired. He then took off. 30 minutes later a 23 yr old man showed up at the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the face. He told police he was there to steal her cell phone.

Let me think. Is stealing a cell phone worth losing my face? hmmm I know I'm not the most attractive man in the world, but...noidea

I'll take a shot in the dark and assume you don't mean he wanted the car charger and leather case...mad He got what he deserved. I just will never understand the mentality of these idiots...

I must be missing something.

In Houston two illegals stealing items are confronted by a neighbor with a shot gun. They turn on him move toward him. They die.

A man in Austin is confronted by a woman with a gun. He runs toward her. he is now in the hospital with a gun shot wound to his face and, oh, yes, under arrest.

Why would someone do this, charge an armed person if you are not?

I would advise that young lady to get a bigger gun.

They showed a picture of him on the news. He has a giant bandage on his cheek. Turns out there was a bit of a struggle and she put a snub nosed .38 to his face and BOOM! Now he has a hole in his cheek. Everytime this scumbag looks in the mirror he will see what a 100lb 5'4'' girl did to him. Imagine the ridicule from his gang bang friends.

I'm with you folks; to bad she couldn't have stuck the barrel in his ear. She is probably going to be as nervous as a rooster for a while. This lazy sack is going to be sitting in prison, and we have to buy him dinner for years to come.

Would it be possible for us as citizens to get our city councils to pay a cash award to citizens who shoot criminals like this? Like a reward for public duty - same as when the police offer cash rewards for 'information leading to the arrest' of a criminal.

hope he wasnt an illegal alien or black

how dare she shoot that poor man, all he wanted was a cell phone. That gun probably scared him half to death. If she would have just given him the phone then no one would be suffering right now. mad realmad

I hope next time she calls the law after she went inside and got her gun.

Not that there's anything illegal with what she did but since he did get close enough to scuffle with her it could have turned out worse.

My only criticism of the young lady is her aim. This should also serve notice to those ladies who carry, but insist on more "petite" rounds such as .25 caliber. When you need your pistola, you need it to stop someone, not just make a popping sound.

My wife carries a .38 with Corbons in it. I did caution her though when at the house to please use the 12G with the 18 1/2" barrel and the #4 buckshot in it if she feels she may confront someone here on the place.

Her aim was ok. One shot one hit... she just needs to learn to double up... two to the face would be better. I’m not a fan of shooting someone for stealing, but he attacked her. My sister in law shot a guy trying to ram his way through the front door. She shot him through the door. I think she did exactly what she needed to survive.

Chip in and buy her a good used Binelli 12ga entry shotgun with 14" barrel and flashlight under barrel. The story would have been different then and cheaper. That was just too close for comfort.

A shotgun with a 14" barrel will also get you about 10 years in the Federal Pen.

You of course are referring to the picture of the perp where he's bandaged with the WTHH look on his face.

Personally I'm glad the perp got what he got. I bet it'll be fun explaining how he got that 'nice' scare on his face to the rest of the inmates.
