Does anyone on here have a simple plan to make your own rod pod? I would like a plan for a 3 or 4 rod pod. I would just buy one, but they are too expensive.

ScottEvil made one out of pvc a while back. He should be able to tell you how to make one.

Another option is to use banksticks instead of a pod, but the pod is more versatile because you can set it up anywhere.

Yes, a bankstick would work. I just don't want to lose my rod and reel if a carp gets on my line. I know to set the drag real low though.

honestly you would be better off with cheap bank sticks or pod versus making one from pvc. The pvc pod is clumsy and not stable, plus trying to get something to match up to the alarms or v-style rod rest's 3/8 british threads is a pain. A pod or bank stick will not keep your rod from going in the water btw, you either need to loosen your drag or get a reel with a bait runner feature.

are just a few examples

Whether you use the pod or bansticks you always have to set the drag loose... Otherwise, either the pole is going in the water, or the line will snap, or the hook straighten...

Banksticks are cheap and you can put an alarm on them... The X2 are good ones to start with, or the NNBs from BCT.

Yes I knew I would have to have my drag set low if I didn't have the rod in my hands. I appreciate your ideas. I may attempt one like Chris was telling me about. (or just get bank sticks for now) I will have to look into in further. Thanks.
