Was down at the marina fishing for crappie (minnows under a bobber) when this guy/gal took the minnow with force. Sadly, this fish is my new PB largemouth. We didn't have a scale, but it went for what looked like a pretty healthy 16" (any guesses on weight?). Had to have my dad hold the fish while I tried to get a shot via my phone, so I apologize for the poor quality.

It's been pretty consistent bud, but nothing spectacular. I've been pulling in 12-18" channel cats from the end of the dock and crappie from the slip just under keeper size (seriously, like 9.75"). I've probably caught 4 or 5 keepers out of about 30 fish over the past few weeks. But I just like catching fish, no matter the size. The undersized sandies (the 4-6" ones) have also been a thorn in my side just about every night I go out there. Good sized bluegills coming from the slip behind us on minnows and worms, though. I've been going out about 6:00 PM and the bite has been fairly good from 7:00 to about 11:00.

Hehehe, take your neighbor out fishing on the main body of the lake and maybe I'll hook something larger. wink

I'm not a huge LMB fisher so I was really shocked when I hauled this one up, especially from our slip. Good times!

Agreed. That fish looks like a healthy 4.5 to 5lb LMB! Congrats on your personal best!

Nice fish; congrats!

A 16-inch bass would weight 2 to 2.5 pounds.
