The lake is in pretty good shape. We are a few inches low, but the water clarity is fine. Temps are mid to upper 80's. Summer patterns are here as well.
The early topwater bite is still unpredictable. This last week it was almost non-existent. The few fish we managed on topwater were on a white buzzbait. Early though we are catching them on flukes, senko type baits, and shaky heads. Nothing real big but some nice slot fish. Ray did manage this nice one on a buzzbait.

He also got a very solid fish on a jig, the afternoon before.

We are still catching some nice fish flipping. Jigs, brush hogs, yo momma's, and the kriet kreature bait is working. The fluke is still accounting for a good number of our fish. I know I mention it all the time, but it works

Randy got a nice slot fish on a fluke Monday.

I even managed to get one on a fluke

Piper did manage to beat out his cousin on Sunday. Braggin rights for a while. He even got his first flippin fish.

And my long time customer Randy was out on a family camping trip and slipped out for an afternoon trip Saturday before the storms. He mananged a nice slot fish carolina riggin a bbh.

Yesterday I took my son fishing. The morning bite was slow, but we ended up with around 20 by 12:30. He had a good day with the shaky head, his favorite rig. Then I put him to work in the boat shed. Dang was it hot in there

We didn't work long!
The sandies are doing there normal summer thing as well. Schooling all over the place in the mornings. The we are slabbing for them after that. Try throwing that slab under the schools to get the bigger fish. You may even catch some bass. Sunday with Piper and Robby out, we got 4 black bass on slabs under the sandies. One went around 4lbs.
I really don't see anything changing much over the next month. Except the sandies will be schooling even more.
Thanks
Dannie
